Ustadh Rakin Niass helps Muslims prepare for marriage, strengthen relationships and recover after divorce. He brings more than 25 years of experience in education and five years of focused work supporting couples and individuals through relationship challenges.
His background includes a degree in Sociology, a PGCE in Education, postgraduate study in emotional and behavioural difficulties, and professional training in life and relationship coaching. This combination informs an approach that is educational, practical, compassionate and sensitive to Islamic values.
As an Islamic teacher and community contributor, Ustadh Rakin supports new Muslims, delivers talks, leads community learning and contributes to Friday prayers, khutbahs and weekly dhikr sessions.
His relationship work includes premarital education, Muslim marriage coaching, divorce recovery, individual development and Nikah services. Topics include communication, expectations, emotional intelligence, trust, boundaries, conflict and preparation for the responsibilities of marriage.
He is also an author and poet. His book Getting Ready for Love was created to help Muslims prepare more thoughtfully for marriage. His wider philosophy is that strong self-knowledge, historical understanding and good education help people and families flourish.
Ustadh Rakin is based in London and carries out community activity from Rumi’s Cave in North West London. Coaching, teaching and selected speaking engagements are available online and internationally.
